
David S Frankel MD
Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PADr. David Frankel is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as the Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program.
Dr. Frankel received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Frankel then returned to Penn for fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology. He is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine.
Dr. Frankel’s clinical interests include management and ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, as well as implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Frankel’s research focuses on improving outcomes in complex catheter ablation, with particular emphasis on ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation. His research has been published in JAMA Cardiology, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and other leading medical journals.
