Dr. Sugar is an Assistant Professor and Movement Disorders Specialist at The Nene and Jamie Koch Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center in the Department of Neurology at the University of New Mexico and the New Mexico VA Health Care System, Albuquerque, NM. She received her MD from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and completed her neurology residency at the University of Utah. She completed fellowship training in Movement Disorders at Rush University in Chicago, IL. She has a clinical practice in movement disorders and is active in resident and fellow education. Her research interests include Parkinson’s disease, cervical dystonia, and ataxia.
