Dr. Stimson is the Warburton-Jewett Fellow in Urologic Oncology at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His research interest is focused on health care policy, payment reform, and the transition from the volume- to the value-era in health care. He previously served in the United States House of Representatives as the Health Policy Legislative Fellow to the GOP Doctors Caucus and the group's co-chairman, Dr. Phil Roe (TN-1), and was the inaugural H. Logan Holtgrewe Health Policy Legislative Fellow for the American Urological Association. He is currently a co-chair of multiple policy workgroups at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) where he is responsible for developing and drafting federal regulations for CMMI bundled payment models, and is collaborating with Johns Hopkins Healthcare on bundled payment design. Clinically, he is interested in the surgical treatment of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer.
