Dr. Celano is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Associate Director of the Cardiac Psychiatry Research Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital. His research focuses on the promotion of psychological and physical health in individuals with, or at risk for, heart disease. He is the Principal Investigator for studies of health behavior promotion programs in patients with heart failure and type 2 diabetes, and directs related projects in patients with coronary artery disease or cardiac risk conditions (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidemia). He is the author of over 50 articles and book chapters and serves as an associate editor of General Hospital Psychiatry, a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on inpatient, emergency, and consultation psychiatry.
