She obtained her medical degree from the University of Melbourne School of Medicine. Dr. Tan then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford University, investigating the application of a novel microglial replacement therapy in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis. She is interested in pursuing a career in neuroimmunology.
