Christina L. Nicholas PhD
Assistant Professor, Department of Orthodontics, University of Illinois Chicago, Chicago, IllinoisChristina Nicholas, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at University of Illinois in the Department of Orthodontics, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Anthropology. Nicholas is a biological anthropologist whose work primarily focuses on craniofacial growth and development; her methodological expertise is in complex phenotyping (e.g., geometric morphometrics). She draws on her doctoral training in anthropology and post-doctoral training in oral health to tackle both evolutionary and clinical topics within dentistry and dental anthropology. Currently, several key projects in her lab address questions related to childhood obesity, timing of dentofacial growth, and aspects of oral health.
