Dr. Chen obtained his medical degree from National Taiwan University School of Medicine, and his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship training in gastroenterology both at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. He is currently Professor of Medicine, Director of General Gastroenterology, Director of Patient Safety and Quality, and Director of Small Bowel Endoscopy Program at Division of Gastroenterology, Washington University School of Medicine. His clinical interests are small intestinal endoscopy, obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
