Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, The George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Washington, DCChavon Onumah, MD, MPH, MEd, FACP is an assistant professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences where she is a practicing internist/HIV specialist and medical educator, Director of the Primary Care Clerkship, Director of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence for the Department of Medicine and Antiracism Coalition steering committee member. Nationally, she has served on the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine’s CDIM Survey and Scholarship committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Society of General Internal Medicine’s Health Equity Commission (current co-chair) and Women in Medicine Commission. Her areas of scholarship and service include medical education; implicit bias, health equity and social justice; and workforce diversity and inclusion.
