Carlos Garaicoa-Pazmino DDS, MS
Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontics, University of Iowa, College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, Iowa City, IowaDr. Garaicoa-Pazmino joined the Department of Periodontics of the University of Iowa as a Clinical Assistant Professor in June 2021. He obtained his DDS degree (Class of 2011) from the Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador and completed his graduate periodontal training and MS degree (Class of 2017) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Garaicoa-Pazmino is a certified periodontist by the American Board of Periodontology (2018). After completing his periodontal training, Dr. Garaicoa-Pazmino has been pursuing an academic career sharing his passion for Periodontics, published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals associated with periodontal disease and implant therapy while providing patient care.
