Dr. Brigid S. Boland is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Diego.  She received her undergraduate degree from Yale University, obtained her Medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her internal medicine and gastroenterology training at University of California, San Diego where she also completed an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellowship.  She was recruited to join the faculty at University of California, San Diego where she focuses on the care of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. 

Dr. Boland’s research focuses on translational research in inflammatory bowel disease trying to better understand disease pathogenesis and identify novel biomarkers to predict response to therapy.  She has received a Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Career Development Award, UCSD KL2 Award, and National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases K23 Award.
