Brandon Baartman MD

Dr. Brandon Baartman was born and raised in Rochester, MN. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and went on to graduate from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Baartman completed his Ophthalmology training at the Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland OH, where he served as the Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. He went on to complete a year of advanced anterior segment surgery at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Baartman founded Vance Thompson Vision Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska in July 2018 and is currently the lead surgeon and performs corneal, glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery.  He has conducted a variety of clinical trials in vision research and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Baartman has a passion for improving the quality of eye care, both locally and globally, through education, a commitment to research and technology, and delivering an amazing patient experience. Outside of work, Dr. Baartman enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Nicole and their two children Sophia and Teddy.
