Dr. Modjtahedi is a vitreoretinal surgeon and the Director of the Electrophysiology and Retinal Degeneration at the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. He also helps lead telemedicine services as the Assistant Director of the Eye Monitoring Center. He completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was a Heed Fellow and received the “Fellow of the Year” award. His current research interests include database analysis to examine trends in ophthalmic diseases and outcomes, population-based research, and prediction analyses. He has helped develop and lead several research programs at different institutions.
He is the principal investigator for several multicenter projects, the Associate Editor for “Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology,” Editorial Board member for “Ophthalmology and Therapy,” and a reviewer for multiple journals.
