Barbara M. Wirostko is a Doctor of Ophthalmology, fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Department of Bio Engineering. Dr. Wirostko’s clinical expertise is in clinical research and drug/device development of ophthalmic therapies having worked in both large and small pharma holding executive positions.  She has been a long-time member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology having served on various leadership, grant committees, and editorial boards. Dr. Wirostko received a BS with distinction at Cornell University, Ithaca, and her MD at Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons, NY. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center with a glaucoma fellowship at Cornell Medical Center, NY. She lives in Park City Utah with her husband and children and in 2014 started a nationally recognized nonprofit in memory of their son, Joseph James Morelli, to award scholarships to high school and college with dyslexia pursing a STEM career.
