Dr. Hitawala graduated from medical school at the Ravindra Nath Tagore Medical College in India. He completed his internship and residency training at Cleveland Clinic/Fairview Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. He then started and is currently pursuing his Hepatology fellowship at the NIH.
Dr. Hitawala’s research interests focus on the natural history, treatment, and mechanisms of treatment response in chronic hepatitis B and mechanism of development of cirrhosis in various liver diseases.
