Director, Systems Diabetes Program, and Director, Transplant Endocrinology, Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas; Assistant Clinical Professor, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, New York; and Adjunct Assistant Professor, Texas A&M Health Sciences Center, Bryan, TexasDr. Sadhu completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in physiological science, summa cum laude, at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She obtained her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with the honors, and was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine followed by fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Hypertension at UCLA. She has been board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism since 2004.
Since 2010, Dr. Sadhu has been on the faculty at Houston Methodist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She currently serves as the Director of Houston Methodist System Diabetes Management Program and the Director of Transplant Endocrinology. She holds faculty appointments in Weill Cornell Medical College, Institute for Academic Medicine and Texas A&M Health Sciences Center. Her career focus is to improve outcomes of all patients with diabetes and related metabolic conditions by using evidence based clinical protocols to deliver high quality, comprehensive and cost-efficient care. Additionally, Dr. Sadhu has unique expertise in diabetes and endocrinology of a complex group of patients who undergo organ transplantation and in particular, pancreas transplantation. She also performs clinical research to better understand the mechanisms and reduce complications in patients with diabetes and endocrine diseases. Dr. Sadhu has numerous publications in well reputed journals and is an invited lecturer at national and international scientific meetings in her area of expertise.
