She completed an ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York, and another ophthalmology residency at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität. She completed a glaucoma fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital at Jefferson College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Junk joined the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, Florida, in 2006. She holds a joined appointment at the Miami Veterans Administration Medical Center in Miami. Her clinical and research interest are focused on glaucoma, glaucoma pathophysiology, novel glaucoma therapies, and cataract.
