Alvi Rahman PhD
Department of Epidemiology, McGill University, Montreal, CanadaAlvi Rahman is a recent graduate of the PhD in Epidemiology program at McGill with a specialization in pharmacoepidemiology. His doctoral thesis focused on the safety and effectiveness of concomitant use of SSRIs and oral anticoagulants, with a specific interest in drug interactions, with the supervision of Dr. Christel Renoux and Dr. Robert Platt. In addition, he also conducted research assessing prescription trends and the safety of analgesic medications.
During his PhD, he was a recipient of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Canada Graduate Scholarship, Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé Doctoral Award, and the McGill University Tomlinson Doctoral Fellowship. Prior to his PhD, he completed an MSc. in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa and subsequently worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator as part of a pan-Canadian research network aimed at improving care for children with rare metabolic diseases such as phenylketonuria and MCADD deficiency.
