Alexandra Flamm MD
Associate Professor of Dermatology; Dermatology Residency Program Director; Dermatopathology Fellowship Director, The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, New York University Grossman School of Medicine, New York, New YorkDr. Flamm is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at NYU, where she practices dermatology and dermatopathology. She has a clinical focus on contact dermatitis and also serves as Program Director of the Dermatology Residency and the Dermatopathology Fellowship. She is a strong advocate for dermatology and serves as the American Academy of Dermatology’s Advisor to the RUC and Chair of the RBRVS Committee for the AAD. She is an active member of the AAD’s Patient Access and Payer Relations Committee, Dermatopathology Committee and Health Care Finance Committee. She also serves as Chair of the AMA and Health Policy Committee for the American Contact Dermatitis Society and is a previous Board Member of the ACDS. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Cutis.
Dr. Flamm graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Literature. She received her Medical Degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and completed a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Iowa. She completed her dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident. She completed her dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She has authored numerous publications and textbook chapters and won institutional and national awards for her teaching and advocacy work.
