She is also Honorary Professor at the University of the Witwatersrand and North-West University, South Africa. She has 400 publications in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular disease, focusing on clinical epidemiological and population-based work on the development and management of raised blood pressure. She is an invited author of the Lancet Commission of Hypertension and senior author of the 2020 ISH Global Hypertension Practice Guidelines. She is the Immediate Past President of the International Society of Hypertension.
