Dr. Alex Lin is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. He is a clinician-scientist conducting research oriented toward characterizing hypoglycemia and identifying effective interventions to mitigate the burden of hypoglycemia in people living with diabetes. His work has expanded knowledge about the enduring problem of hypoglycemia in people living with type 1 diabetes and using advanced diabetes technologies, as well as highlighting the relationship of hypoglycemia development with impaired awareness of hypoglycemia and unhelpful hypoglycemia beliefs in this population. He has received funding support from the National Institutes of Health, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and other institutional awards. Clinically, he regularly sees people living with diabetes and supports their diabetes management.
