Emile G Daoud MD, FACC
Professor of Internal Medicine; Section Director of Electrophysiology, Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, OhioDr. Daoud earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed his internship, residency, and a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed two additional fellowships at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. He was an assistant professor at the University of Michigan for 3 years before joining Ohio State’s Medical Center.
Dr. Daoud is a nationally noted authority in the field of electrophysiology. He performed the first ablation procedure in the United States for atrial fibrillation using the circular pulmonary vein mapping catheter. In addition, Dr. Daoud is widely published, with more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and he participates in several clinical trials through Ohio State’s Electrophysiology Research program.
Dr. Daoud is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association, Heart Rhythm Society, and Cardiac Electrophysiology Society. His clinical and research interests focus on electrophysiology, specifically the curative ablation of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
